Letter to Mrs Write

Dear Mrs Wright,

My name is Ramonadel and I am from Saint Pius X Catholic school. I am  year five and I am in room three and I am 9 years old.

Thank you for the lovely books you have given us, it is really fun to read them and some are funny and I like the pictures, it is so nice and beautiful.

My favourite book is ‘Fleabag Monkeyface’. It is gross because he likes eating his hair and the pictures are nice because it looks real.

Duffy and the best book in the world

Today we had a Duffy show and it was funny. One of my best parts was when they were in space and Scruffy used the toilet and Duffy put it out and there was poo in it, but in was in a plastic bag.

When it was Emmy’s birthday she looked funny and she always played with her hair, it was funny too. Also when Scruffy did the beat boxing it was funny as well and he did the robot dance too.

Kids for Kids Concert

On Monday the 17th me and my mum and dad went to the kids 4 kids show and we came by car. Me and my mum went inside the Telstraclear in Manukau events centre. We were waiting and waiting then Salote said “Come Ramoandel!”

I went to get my mum and when we were walking we saw Miss G. After that we went inside where we waited for other people. While some of room three students were waiting Miss G gave us something to play and it was knucklebones and cards. I didn’t play with it, I was just waited for my friends. When I was waiting Aurora came in with her bright clothes and her mum so I went to Aurora. We were just talking and just doing random things then we started to wait for Sonya and Ana. After that we saw Sonya, she was wearing her bright clothes too. We saw Ana with her nice bright clothes and she looked really different because whenever I look at her I always think it is someone else.

A lot of people were there, we were getting in our rows that we were in and I was in row 4 the same as Aurora and Ana, Sonya was in row three. While we were sitting in our rows this girl came and said “be quiet everyone now listen up.” She was telling us stuff about what to do while she speaks to the Audience. After that we went to the stage quietly because the audience would hear us.

After that the curtain opened and there was a lot of people. I was really scared, I wanted to hide my self. My favourite song we sang was sister act because it was cool. The last song we sang was Talk to the Animals. After that Suzanne Prentice said she would go and take photos and stuff in the foyer. It was finished and finally I could relax. We went home, I was so tired.

Fruit Description

The fruit of the day was a Granny Smith apple.

The Granny Smith apple is shaped as a circle and it is green. The sweet apple sounds crunchy and smelt fresh. The juicy apple was hard and sort of soft.

The healthy apple was sweet and juicy yummy. The apple is seen in the shops. The fruit is for eating and making it into an apple pie.

The Granny Smith  is special because it is healthy. I think that the Granny smith apple was nice.

Netbook description

My triple E p.c netbook is a mini laptop and it helps me with my learning in class.  
My netbook is black and shiny and have a turn on button. When I turn on my netbook it makes a sound and if I turn it off it doesn't make a sound. My learning tool nfeels smooth and cold.

My little laptop is seen in St Pius X School and sometimes it is seen at home.  I always keep it in the C.O.W which means computer on wheels at night.

My shiny netbook is a learning tool and it helps me with my learning.

My mini netbook is used respectfully and not going on the internet and being stupid with it.  I also make sure to not bang the keyboard with my fingers. We are some of the first people in New Zealand to use netbooks for our learning.

My learning tool has internet on it and I take responsibility for it, by looking after it and also being Cybersmart.

Describeing

Imagination Story

One cold morning I was digging a hole when suddenly I fell down into the hole. I screamed as I saw nothing but blackness.
I opened my eyes and I whispered to myself “where am I?” I was standing on white, slimy ground. I looked around and the trees were brown and shaped like squares. Suddenly it started to rain I thought it would be water rain but then it was Gum Ball rain. I looked up and all I saw was Gumballs falling down onto my face and onto everyone. I walked and it felt yucky because of the white slimy ground.

A man came and I screamed because he was small, he had four big eyes, he had 4 small ears, 2 long arms and 2 long legs, one big nose and a big head. He introduced himself and his name was Scottsdale. I whispered to him “hi do you know where I am?” After that he answered my question saying “you are in Dairy milk”. I said “wow, that is a strange name for a country”.

After that he was saying to me “here this is a ball” and I said “wow I have never seen a ball like that in my country” It was a rainbow one and it was amazing. Scottsdale whispered saying “yes it is really special.” He gave me it and “here have it and keep it” I shouted normal at him saying “are you sure?” and Scottsdale whispered saying“yes you can go back to your country now.” I asked “how? I can’t because there is no way to go back to my country” Scottsdale replied “yes you can” I was speaking normal to him saying “how?” Scottsdale said to me “yes, with that special thing that I gave you.” I thanked him and he answered saying “it is all right.” I held the special ball and it took me back and the hole was still there.

Once I was sure that I was really back home I went to put the special gift under my bed.

Orienteering

Wednesday was a special day because we had to stop doing our work because we had to learn how to do orienteering. This man came inside the classroom with Mr Cookley. When he came inside he was really old then we packed our stuff. I was so excited and I think the others were too. He introduce himself and he said “ Hello my name is Mr McGivern. I’m going to show you how to play orienteering,” 

I wanted to play Orienteering straight away but we had to learn how to play it. Once he told us how to play it he said “well we will have to use a paper so we won’t make holes on the ground". So we used paper. First we had a piece of paper from Mrs Irene. It had numbers on it from 1 to 12. The paper that were hidden it had numbers 1 to 12 on it too. 

After when we finish Mr McGivern said “who can tell us what it says.” Kilisitina said “have a nice day.” I looked at it and it did say have a nice day, but know some knew because it was spelt backwards. After that we said “thank you” then they went.

Howick Historical Village

Mrs Mills was our teacher for school. She was strict. There were three rows inside the classroom. When we all went inside I was kind of nervous because room 6 said “watch out this lady is gonna smack you.” So I listened to Mrs Mills.

When we went inside we had to curtsy (girls) and bow (boys). Once we finished we had to sit down. Mrs Mills said “girls you sit on the left side, boys you sit on the right side and the rest of you can you sit in the middle”. Justin sat in the front because there wasn’t enough seats on the right. After that Mrs Mills said “sit up and put your feet together and fold your arms”. So we did.

Miss G and Andrew sat at the back because they were seniors. Mrs Mills said “can you you fit” to Sonya and Sonya just nodded her head up and down. Mrs Mills said “okay.”

After that we started to learn about when Mrs Mills was in a boat and she said that this man came and gave her a telescope. She said “far, far away I saw a lot of things. What things do you think I saw? Folauhola said “ice” and Mrs Mills said “yes”. Then Ierei said “Penguins” and Mrs Mills said “yes there were a lot of Penguins”.

Then Mrs Mills got a map that was hanging on the wall, and some things were red highlighted. She said “what are the counties that highlighted in red?” First we started from the bottom. The bottom one was a small country called New Zealand. After that we went to the top it was a big one that the juniors got all the answers wrong. Then Ana looked back and said “Miss G do you know what it is?” but Mrs G said nothing. So Ana looked back again. We passed it over to the seniors at the back of us. Andrew said “Canada” and he was right.

Once we finished we learnt how to write in the olden days, it was really hard to me. After that Mrs Mills said “the things on the board that are written, you have to write it like that”. So we had to write it. Once I finished I looked at my writing and it was ugly to me.

Basketball

On Tuesday 11am we went to the courts and we played basketball!. When we walked inside the courts we saw the coach and a lot of basketball balls.

We sat down and the coach said “my name is Bruce” and we said “hi”. After that Bruce said “the rules are don’t talk well someone is talking. And do not chat to the person beside you. And then a tall as man came in with a basketball ball and he was just playing shoot. After that Bruce said “okay Simione can you go where the corner is, Salote can you go and stand where Simione is, Cathrine can you go and stand next to Salote, Tokilupe can you go stand next to Catherine. Can you but your hands up and say your number.” Simione was number 1, Salote was number 2, Catherine was number 3, Tokilupe was the very last number, 4. Simione's group was Sonya, Valensia and Folauhola. Salote had 4 people in her team. Catherine's team was me, Ramonadel, Rachel and Justin. Tokilupe's team was Misiotei and Viliami. In Savelio's team was Ierei and Taiwan. Bruce said “what is your team name” to Simione and he said "Giants". Salote's team name was Breakers, my team name was Power Rangers (Rachel made up our group name) and Savelio's team was Lakers. When we finish making up our team names we started to play. We played Dribbling relay, Dribbling cones and run and shoot. 

Once we finish playing all the games. We went to class as it was room five's turn to play basketball.

HOLIDAY RECOUNT

On an exciting holiday we went to Mcdonald’s to see the Ronald show but we came late so we only came just in time for the card and for his signature. We had to tell Ronald our name so I did. Ronald said to my cousins and I “what is your name?”so we told him our names. My cousins told their names to Ronald and once we got our card we took a photo and my mum took the photo.

Once we took our photo we went and ate. I had a mac-attack, chips and coke mixed with raspberry. My cousins had the same as me too. After that we went home because it was only my sister at home. I WAS REALLY FULL!

It was really fantastic and I am really looking forward to the next holiday. I hope we do it again.

Oktapodi

Oktapodi was a short, funny movie in Greece. We watched that movie because we have to learn how to share our opinion.

Oktapodi and his girlfriend were in the tank and someone just came and took Oktapodi’s girlfriend away. Oktapodi escaped from the shop and went after her. Oktapodi was on the top of the van and Oktapodi’s girlfriend was in the van. Oktapodi went to his girlfriend while the man was driving and the man looked at the window and he punched Oktapodi. Oktapodi’s girlfriend did something and Oktapodi went flying and the girlfriend went flying too. Oktapodi’s girlfriend helped Oktapodi to get up before the man came. Oktapodi and his girlfriend fell down into the pool and they were swimming in it. The man was racing after them and Oktapodi and his girlfriend were just jumping away. The man was still chasing after them, then finally the man got them. After that the man was putting his hand up and Oktapodi and his girlfriend got stuck on the wire. A bird came and got Oktapodi and Oktapodi’s girlfriend had to then go and save him.

My opinion of the movie is that it is fun, especially when Oktapodi escaped from the shop because I’ve never seen a octopus do that before.
                                                                                                                                      

Prayer time

We all sat down in a circle. two of the student said a prayer in room three said the prayer about thanking and giving. When they finish we say the our father.

Then we have a quit time and think about what we have done yesterday and what we are going to do today and i was thinking about yesterday then i said i should do more better than yesterday so i Tyred my best.

Then we all said in the name of the of the father and the holy spirit amen and then one of them blowed the candles.

Netbook Rollout

On Thursday we were all excited because we were going to get our netbooks.

Miss G said we would get our netbooks after lunch time. When lunch time finished I was excited because I saw a box. Miss G took out the stuff that was in the box and it was the netbooks.

Miss G said “girls come” so I went and Sonya and Ierei and Aurora did not come so they went and I went back to my seat with my netbook. Miss G said “count from 10 to 0” then we all counted 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, then Miss G said “GO!”
We open the box and I saw my netbook, there was something covering it and Miss G told us it was to help keep our netbook clean, we were all so excitied. I entered my username and made my new password and I went to the game ‘tux typing’, it was so cool.

After we finished doing our stuff on our netbook we packed up. I loved every minute of that afternoon.

About Me

Family - my brother got married on September 10 and it was my sisters birthday too.

I like playing Baseball.

I like going swimming with my family so we all can have fun together as a family.

I went to the pools and I feel down and did a flip.

I think it's going to be fun and exciting games this year. I think it going to be fun.
